Peaks of the Balkans
Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo

Embark on an unforgettable journey through Europe’s last great wilderness. Join Authentica Travel’s Women-Only Peaks of the Balkans Adventure — a 75-mile highlights trek through the most breathtaking sections of the Accursed Mountains, where Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo meet. We’ll begin in Tirana, exploring the vibrant capital and historic sites like the UNESCO town of Berat, before heading north into a world of alpine peaks, emerald valleys, and timeless mountain culture.

On the trail, we’ll experience true hospitality by staying in locally owned bujtinas — family-run guesthouses that open their doors (and kitchens) to travelers. Every day offers a new window into the region’s traditions, from homemade cheese and rakija to stories passed down for generations. This is adventure travel at its most authentic — rugged, cultural, and deeply connective.
